Bruchim's Founders Have Been Engaged In A Slander Campaign Against Me
Statement on Bruchim's Slander Campaign.
Bruchim Founding Executive Board member Eliyahu Ungar-Sargon has been engaged in an over half-decade-long harassment and slander campaign against me.
Around 2016, Eliyahu Ungar-Sargon had secret meetings with the “top echelon of the Intactivist movement.” During these meetings, he slandered me as a “white nationalist” and attempted to turn Intactivist organizations against me and my then soon-to-be-released film American Circumcision.
He has continued this campaign for longer than I spent making my film, repeating these claims to journalists as late as 2021. By then, I had married my wife, a mixed-race Native American woman, and announced I was publishing a book supporting social justice. Anyone, including him, would have known that what he was saying was false and slander.
Eliyahu Ungar-Sargon deliberately keep this campaign a secret, never letting me know it was happening. During his slander campaign, I emailed him, called him, and even invited him to participate in a book project I was working on. He never replied. The Intactivist organizations he spoke with also did not contact me to ask if the claims he was making were true or let me know anyone was making them. I didn’t learn the extent of Eliyahu Ungar-Sargon’s slander campaign until later.
In my podcast episode The Path to Children’s Justice, I spoke about Eliyahu Ungar-Sargon’s harassment campaign without mentioning his name. Recently, I published an article titled The Abuse of Jewish Fragility, describing the abusive relationship dynamic he and his accomplices had engaged in. In the article, I say that if survivors express their pain around the issue of circumcision in a way that triggers Jewish abusers, they will attack those survivors and attempt to turn others against them. Eliyahu Ungar-Sargon and his accomplices responded by engaging in the exact abuse dynamic I describe in that article.
Bruchim co-founder Rebecca Wald published an article titled Standing Together Against Antisemitism in which she claims that antisemitism “has found a new voice in the genital autonomy movement" and links to my article describing the abusive dynamic her co-founder Eliyahu Ungar-Sargon engaged in. Rebecca Wald and multiple members of Bruchim have my phone number and have advised me on Jewish issues in the past. If they felt what I had written was anything other than good they could have contacted me. They did not.
The article also states that “last week, a broad coalition of concerned leaders in the genital autonomy movement issued a statement disavowing antisemitism in our community” and links to a Statement Opposing Antisemitism Within The Genital Autonomy Movement. The intended implication of linking this statement and Wald’s article is to falsely suggest that this attack is more than the work of an ongoing slander campaign and make Intactivist leaders complicit in their slander.
The signatories I’ve spoken with say they were simply asked to sign a statement against antisemitism and did not realize it would be used in an ongoing slander and harassment campaign. Many are friends. They appeared in my film. They’ve spoken on my podcast. They’ve supported my work. None contacted me prior to Rebecca Wald using their names in her hit piece. I hope those that are friends will stand with me now.
The claims of Eliyahu Ungar-Sargon and his accomplices are part of an ongoing harassment and slander campaign that began before I released my film. They didn’t attack me because of what I wrote. They have been looking for a way to stop my activism for many years. Their actions are planned to divide and destroy a movement that would otherwise be united in advocacy for children.
In the coming days, I will publish more. I ask for your support. Please share this article. If you have useful information about this slander campaign, send it to me. I need your help now.
This is so sad and disappointing to hear 😞
It is such a pity that our world is full of people so threatened and defensive that that we cannot see the bigger issue and one only has to touch the threatened weak spot to turn on the attack.
Sure we need to be sensitive but not keep diluting the message until it has no substance.
Strength to you.
